The first cricket tournament of the year at LUMS was a tri-series between LUMS, Lahore School of Economics and Forman Christian College University. The first match was a close competition in which LUMS came on top by defeating LSE with a 15-run margin. However, the next two matches were affected by overcast conditions.
Even though FCCU set a good target of 118 runs in 18 overs, LUMS was declared winners through the D/L method owing to their excellent start of the chase with 69 runs in 9 overs.
However, unfortunately the last match of the tournament was completely washed out and each team awarded one point. At the end of the tournament, LUMS was awarded the winning trophy for being at the top of the points table.
The tri-series was a good start to the season and a great indication of the quality of cricket we can look forward to.
