Monday, December 5, 2016

An Open Day to raise awareness about the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) programmes was held on Saturday, December 3, 2016, at the Islamabad Marriott Hotel. The sessions were attended by a large number of prospective students, their parents, and teachers from schools and college, who were introduced to the various academic programmes offered at the University.

The information sessions provided an excellent opportunity for guests to find out about the degrees offered at LUMS, the admission application process and financial aid options available at the university. Admissions Office, Financial Aid Office and Marketing team representatives were on hand to answer visitors’ queries at the day-long event. The guests networked with LUMS faculty, staff and alumni who introduced them to the academic and extra-curricular options available at the University.

The sessions for the graduate and post-graduate programmes at LUMS were scheduled during the first half of the day, while the LUMS undergraduate programmes and the Executive MBA (EMBA) programme sessions were scheduled in the second half. This year notable Alumni for each programme were engaged to share their experiences about Life at LUMS and how a LUMS degree helped in their careers. Prominent Alumni included Mr. Bakar Ahmed, SVP/Country Head, Human Resource Division, Askari Bank Limited; Ms. Fatima Raees, Evaluation Analyst, Adam Smith International; and Mr. Umar Gillani, Advocate High Court at Islamabad High Court among others.

Each programme presentation concluded with a question and answer session during which the audience had the opportunity to ask for more details. Guests expressed satisfaction at the information given by the LUMS team and were especially pleased at receiving detailed admissions related information.
