The first Board of the LUMS Law Alumni Association gathered at the Office of the Vice Chancellor of LUMS, on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 to sign a Charter for the Association. This ceremony took place just eight months after the successful reunion of the LUMS Law Alumni Association earlier this year.
The event began with a welcome note by the Dean of the Shaikh Ahmad School of Law (SAHSOL), and Patron of the Association, Prof. Dr. Martin Lau, who highlighted the expectations from the Association, particularly in light of the fact that it is the third alumni association to be formed at LUMS.
This was followed by signing of the Charter by LUMS Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. S. Sohail H. Naqvi, the Dean and the Board members. Dr. Naqvi and Dr. Lau signed the Charter for the Law Alumni Association on behalf of LUMS. They were followed by inaugural Board members of the Association, namely Mr. Ehsanullah Shah (President, BA-LL.B, 2009), Ms. Marva Khan (Vice President, BA-LL.B, 2013), Ms. Angbeen Mirza (Treasurer, BA-LL.B, 2008) and Mr. Umer Akram Chaudhry (Secretary, BA-LL.B, 2008), who signed the Charter on behalf of the Association. The LUMS Office of Alumni Relations was represented by Ms. Erum Bhatti and Mr. Irfan Latif at the signing ceremony.
After the official signing, the Vice Chancellor, Dean and the Board members shared their ideas on how to carry the Association forward. They also conversed about various upcoming events, such as the Association’s Annual Dinner, and discussed bolstering the linkage between students and the Law Alumni in various domains.
