The LUMS Islamabad Alumni Chapter recently held its election on Saturday, March 18, 2017, at the Capital Group of Companies, North Wing Stock Exchange Tower Blue Area, Islamabad, and elected a new board of office bearers.
More than 30 alumni attended the get-together to cast their vote, including former Chapter President Saud Mukhtar, MBA 2007, who acted as the Election Commissioner at the event.
First of all, the nominees were introduced to the alumni present at the event. This was followed by an interactive discussion on the ways through which the Islamabad Alumni Chapter could be further improved.
Later on, votes were casted, ballots counted and finally the results were announced. Taimur Saeed, MSc 2013, was elected the new President of the Islamabad Alumni Chapter. In addition to this, Khadija Shahper Bakhtiar, BSc 2007, and Muhammad Haider Imtiaz, BA-LLB 2010, were elected Vice President and Secretary of the chapter respectively, while Nabeel Tariq, BSc 2014, was elected as the Treasurer.
In addition to the officially elected board, Mr. Saud Mukhtar (ex-president of the Islamabad Alumni Chapter) will also act as an advisor to the chapter.
The charge was handed over from the former board to the newly elected one in a spirit of support and goodwill. The get-together also provided the alumni in Islamabad with a great opportunity to indulge in constructive discussions about the future of the chapter, including an active exchange of ideas for future plans.
