“The LUMS MBA Open Day Nepal proved to be a great opportunity for us to raise awareness about LUMS and motivate applicants from Nepal to benefit from our fully funded MBA programme. This mutually beneficial exercise, we hope, will further increase the on campus socio-academic diversity of LUMS,” commented Prof. Dr. S. Sohail H. Naqvi, Vice Chancellor, LUMS about the MBA Open Day held in Kathmandu, Nepal on Saturday, March 4, 2017.
Dr. Naqvi along with LUMS representatives and MBA graduates of Nepal, Shyam Chokhani, Manoj Dhakal, Badri Nath Baral, Badri Nath Jha, Rahish Shrestha, Kabindra Shrestha, Binod Prasad Shrestha, Jayakar Vaidya, Shovan Mishra and Bibhushan Harsha Bajracharya engaged with the students personally and answered their queries.
The MBA alumni spoke to the enthusiastic audience about their LUMS experience, its four schools and more specifically about the MBA programme and the vibrant campus life. Prospective students and their parents were enthralled to have LUMS representatives on their home ground. Meeting the Vice Chancellor in person and getting to know about the University’s Business School, the Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB), its flagship MBA programme and most importantly the most attractive fully funded scholarships specifically for SAARC countries, namely, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan was an overarching experience for each of the participants.
“I’ve found out a lot about the Business School and the MBA programme which is a highly sought after experiential degree,” said a Nepalese student. Another participant at the open day said that the range of scholarships offered are amazing.
Along with addressing the numerous queries of the parents and prospective students, the LUMS team also provided individual counselling to prospective students, who were satisfied with the information they received. They shared that the session was very useful and helpful in making an informed decision about their future academic plans.
