The LUMS female squash team participated in the All Pakistan HEC Intervarsity Female Squash Championship and owing to their excellent performance secured the 3rd position at the competition. The Championship was held between April 15 – 17, 2019 at the Punjab Squash Complex in Lahore.
The LUMS team cleared its first round of matches with a clean sweep against the University of Sargodha and proceeded to the quarterfinals to play against Lahore College for Women University. Having qualified for the semi-finals LUMS played their match against Punjab University, both fighting for their place in the finals. After a close match, PU took the win giving LUMS the opportunity to battle for the third position against Fatimah Jinnah University, a battle they succeeded to win. The players gave it their all and have made the LUMS community proud through this achievement.
Along with the players, a vital share of the credit goes to the dedicated coaches Yasir Sarwar and Tehrema Islam, Aamnah Mansoor, Laiba Maryam, and Ms. Shanza.
