Two teams from LUMS, LUMS A and LUMS B, represented the University, at this year’s Beaconhouse Liberty Kasuri Cup (BLKC). The BLKC is the first tournament of the debating season that is affiliated with the Debating Society of Pakistan. Both teams gave a stellar performance as they reached the semi-finals, with LUMS A going all the way and winning the Cup.
LUMS A comprised of senior year students Taha Iqbal and Talha Wani, sophomores Ashar Imran and Muhammad Ahsan, and first-year student Mustufa Shaukat, all from the Mushtaq Gurmani School of Humanities and Social Sciences (MGSHSS). The other team comprised of students from Suleman Dawood School of Business, MGSHSS, Syed Babar Ali School of Science and Engineering and Shaikh Ahmad Hassan School of Law; sophomore Lyba Bashir and Tahreem Zahid, were accompanied by first year students Daniyal Maqbool, Balach Khan and Shahmir Ahmed.
As a result of her fantastic performance, Ms. Bashir became the 3rd best speaker of the tournament.
