It was an evening to celebrate the pursuit of passion when the graduates of the third session of Lifetime Learning @LUMS (LLL) participated in their much-anticipated graduation ceremony. After the first two immensely successful sessions, the Lifetime Learning @LUMS programme marked the end of another remarkable session on Thursday, November 30, 2017 with this ceremony. Attended by the esteemed LUMS Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. S. Sohail H. Naqvi, the attendees also included senior management from many departments at LUMS, and a diverse crowd of around 300 LLL Session 3 graduates.
Held at the Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB) building, the event arena also comprised of an Art Gallery prepared by the talented graduating participants. This included intricate masterpieces of Arabic calligraphy, photography and painting prepared by the LLL participants. The students of the Design, Clothing and Textile Course also exhibited their creatively stitched pieces of clothing on mannequins.
The ceremony began with the National Anthem followed by a welcome speech by Yasser Hashmi, Dean of Student Affairs, LUMS. The Master of Ceremony, Adeel Hashmi, then took the stage and engaged the audience with his humour and captivating storytelling skills.
Throughout this vibrant ceremony, the graduates showcased exciting live performances, including soothing musical performances by the piano, flute and guitar students. The audience was entertained by the amazing new skills acquired by the participants during their courses. Several interesting videos were played throughout the ceremony, which gave the audience a glimpse into the incredible journey of LLL participants and their sentiments throughout the session.
Towards the end of the ceremony, Dr. Naqvi congratulated all the graduating participants and encouraged them to keep celebrating their passion for continuous learning.
The ceremony then proceeded towards distribution of certificates. All the graduating participants were individually presented certificates by the Vice Chancellor, after which everyone took the opportunity to socialize over a scrumptious dinner.
