It was an amazing day to celebrate the pursuit of passion when the graduates of the eighth session of Lifetime Learning @LUMS (LLL) came together for their Graduation Ceremony. The event that took place on Saturday, February 23, 2019 marked the closing of a yet another remarkable session. Chief Guest, Dr. Bushra Rizvi, Assistant Professor at Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB) congratulated and motivated the graduating participants and encouraged them to continue learning. Guest of Honour, First Secretary, Head of Press and Cultural Section, Embassy of Federal Republic of Germany in Pakistan, Christine Rosenberger welcomed LLL’s efforts at cultural exchange through the offering of a German Language course as well as practicing an inclusive approach to teaching.
Adeel Hashmi, Master of the Ceremony, LLL mentor and faculty, and a prominent media personality, delivered a moving speech calling for a mindset change regarding education and the subsequent process of evolution.
The ceremony also showcased various initiatives which provided insights into life at LLL including, a short video about the extraordinary LLL participant journey, a video with course participants introducing themselves in the German Language and an art gallery comprising interior design and graphic design projects displayed by LLL graduates. The showstopper, however, was the Artisan Baking stall thronged by everyone present.
Certificates were distributed to all the Session 8 graduates and the LLL team for acknowledgement of their hard work by Dr. Rizvi and Ms. Rosenberger. After the certificate distribution, a sumptuous hi-tea provided a great networking opportunity for batch mates and instructors to exchange views.
Session 8 of LLL offered 16 exciting academic and interest-based courses with more than 300 participants enrolled in them.
