Justice William Blackburne, Justice of the High Court of England and Wales visited Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) on March 31, 2016. He delivered a lecture at the Asifa-Irfan Moot Court at the LUMS Shaikh Ahmad Hassan School of Law (SAHSOL).
The lecture was attended by a large number of students and faculty. Dr. Sohail Naqvi, Vice Chancellor, LUMS welcomed the esteemed guest to the university. Justice Blackburne began by saying that he was pleased to see such a great university and was humbled to be present here. He talked about the history and structure of the judicial system in the United Kingdom. Justice Blackburne further discussed the influence of the colonial era on the Pakistan’s judicial system.
The lecture ended with a vibrant Q&A session. Faculty members and students asked various questions on diverse topics relating to law.
