Honourable Mr. Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah, Chief Justice, Lahore High Court delivers Khalid Ishaque Distinguished Lecture at SAHSOL

As part of the sesquicentennial anniversary celebrations of the Lahore High Court, the Honourable Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah, Chief Justice, Lahore High Court, delivered the Khalid Ishaque Distinguished Lecture at the Asifa-Irfan Moot Court at Shaikh Ahmad Hassan School of Law on December 1, 2016.

The programme included a recitation from the Holy Quran by Dr. Faiza Ismail, Assistant Professor of Law at SAHSOL, opening addresses by Prof. Dr. S. Sohail H. Naqvi, Vice-Chancellor, LUMS and Prof. Dr. Martin Lau, Dean of SAHSOL. At the end of the event Dr. Parvez Hassan, Chair of the Advisory Board of the School of Law delivered a vote of thanks. Ms. Nimra Arshad, President Law and Politics Society was the Master of the Ceremony.

The audience included several prominent personalities from both the professional world as well as the academia. These included two former Chief Justices of Pakistan, namely Mr. Justice Tasadduq Hussain Jillani and Mr. Justice Jawwad S. Khawaja and Mr. Justice Fazal Karim, a former Judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, a number of sitting Judges of the Lahore High Court, Khursheed Rizvi, Registrar LHC, Mohsin Mumtaz, Research Center LHC, Ms. Uzma Chugtai, the Director General of the Punjab Judicial Academy and members of her staff, Ms. Rukhsana David, Principal Kinnaird College University, Dr. Yaqoob Bangash, Director Public Policy Center at Information Technology University, Dr. Shahbaz Cheema and Dr. Naveed Ahmed, Punjab University Law College, Yuriy R. Fedwic US Consul General Lahore, prominent lawyers, including Iftikhar Riaz, Anwar Kamal, Waqas Mir, Zia Ullah Ranjha, as well as the faculty (Dr. Zubair Abbasi, Dr. Muhammad Azeem, Dr. Faiza Ismail, Uzair Kayani, Khyzar Hussain, Emad Ansari, Neha Ali Gauhar and adjunct faculty (Sahar Bandial, Zafar Iqbal Kalanauri, Angbeen Atif Mirza, Asim Zulfiqar Ali, Umer Akram, Mehtab Khan). Alumni, students of the School and the University also attended the event.
