First Undergraduate Class Celebrates 20 Year Alumni Reunion

Thursday, January 11, 2018

The Class of BSc 1997 was welcomed back to LUMS for their 20 Year Alumni Reunion on Sunday, December 24, 2017, at the Executive Dining Hall (EDH) on campus.

As the first batch of LUMS BSc undergraduates, this reunion was a special one, not just because it celebrated their 20th alumni anniversary, but because it was a celebration of the two amazing decades since LUMS launched its undergraduate journey.

The reunion was graced by the presence of many members of the BSc 1997 class with their families, who came together on a bright Sunday afternoon to celebrate 20 years of being a part of this established institution.

The gathering kicked off with introductions of the alumni present so that everyone could familiarise themselves again with old friends and faces they may have forgotten. The comfortable setting provided the alumni with the opportunity to mingle with each other over a delicious lunch, and share life stories and updates.

The afternoon then moved on to the highlight of the reunion, which was a special scavenger hunt organised for the alumni’s children. Designed as an opportunity for the children to explore their parents’ University, the scavenger hunt took the children on an adventurous tour around the LUMS campus, providing them with a truly entertaining experience at their parents’ alma mater. The fun-filled activity was then followed by a distribution of prizes for the winners.

The alumni had a truly enjoyable time catching up with class fellows, visiting their former home, showing off their beautiful alma mater to their families, and reminiscing over their favourite LUMS memories. This wonderful reunion wouldn’t have been possible without the initiative taken by one alumnus from this class, Abid Butt, who collaborated with the Office of Alumni Relations throughout, and helped make the event such a success.

The enjoyable afternoon concluded with a round of interactive group photographs that the alumni could not wait to get their hands on.
