Executive Development Programme for National Transmission and Despatch Campany

To prepare for rapid infrastructure expansion, align human resources and enhance management capital, Rausing Executive Development Centre (REDC), Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) and National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC) has collaborated for a series of executive programmes.

REDC launched the first programme for NTDC’s middle management on September 24, 2018. This long-duration and immersive programme was directed by the faculty of Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB), including Abdur Rahman Malik, Assistant Professor, Co-directed by Jamshed H. Khan, Professor, and supported in teaching by, Anjum Fayyaz, Assistant Professor, Shezeen Salim Hemani, Teaching Fellow, Junaid Ashraf, Associate Professor, Arif I. Rana, Associate Professor, Arif Butt, Assistant Professor, Zehra Waheed, Assistant Professor, Khalid A. Mirza, Professor, SDSB and Fiaz Ahmad Chaudhry, Professor, SBASSE. The programme highlights major areas related to human resources, leadership/ team building, communication skills, project and procurement management, ethics and public sector governance.

The programme helps participants to expand their knowledge across diverse functional areas and develop a holistic management perspective. The objective of EDP is to create successful general managers who can compete and succeed by leveraging their own and organisations’ inherent strengths in an integrated manner. Discussion based case studies, interactive lectures, real life simulation games, industry visits and projects blended with class room activity to impart learning and bridge the core management areas to create functional synergies. 

NTDC’s Managing Director, Mr. Wajahat Saeed Rana congratulated LUMS and NTDC management on successfully venturing the programme after months of efforts. He commended, “I strongly believe it is the start of a new beginning and executives trained by a prime management institute of the country will surely help NTDC to become a dynamic and forward looking organisation.”

Mr. Saeed addressing the participants highlighted, “The reputation which LUMS enjoys at national and international level is enough to make me believe that you will get top-quality academic knowledge. I expect you to get a value addition to yourself and also transfer the knowledge skills and positive attitude to your colleagues and juniors once you are back to work.”
