Monday, December 31, 2018

Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah was a visionary whose achievements and struggle for Pakistan are a source of inspiration for all Pakistani citizens. To celebrate and reflect upon the Quaid’s work and legacy, the LUMS Human Resources department organised a ‘Quaid-e-Azam Day’ event on Tuesday, December 25, 2018. Chief Guests at the event were the honourable Justice (R) Khalil Ur Rehman Ramday and Justice (R) Dr. Nasira Iqbal who talked about Quaid-e-Azam’s foresight and his pioneering work as a lawyer and leader of the Muslim League. They implored the people present to study the life of the Quaid and incorporate his values into their own work and lives as Pakistanis to take the country forward. The talk was moderated by the multi-talented Adeel Hashmi and the chief guests were presented with shields as a token of appreciation.

The event ended with refreshments and performances from the LUMS staff. Uzma Baig from the Syed Babar Ali School of Science and Engineering, Ahsan Tanveer from the Finance department and Khizar Tahseen from Lifetime Learning @LUMS sang national songs to mark the occasion. Justice (R) Ramday ended the celebrations by cutting the cake. Everybody left the event feeling motivated and inspired to make their own contributions in the country’s progress by following in the Quaid’s footsteps.
