The bright, passionate, and ever expanding Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) alumni community in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) in Canada held a delightful Eid get-together on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Eat More Restaurant & Café in Mississauga.
The event was attended by alumni ranging from the 1990 batch all the way up to the batch of 2012, along with their beloved families. On behalf of the LUMS management and faculty, Professor Dr. Jamshed Hassan Khan was there to welcome the alumni.
A source of great pride for the University is that the LUMS alumni in the Toronto area are well established; they have not only successfully pursued their entrepreneurial passions, but have also made their mark in multiple sectors.
They are also in good positions to help new comers settle down in Canada, which is always a thrilling and rewarding experience. This year was the perfect time to host a LUMS alumni get-together in Canada because it marks the 20th year anniversary for the batch of 1997, which was the first batch of the BSc undergraduate programme at LUMS; it was also Canada’s 150th birthday.
The alumni had a fun and festive time catching up with each other and their alma mater. They especially enjoyed the chance to celebrate together the individual and team achievements of all those involved in the LUMS enterprise. More than anything, they look forward to Canada Alumni Chapter members, Azim Rizvee and Nauman Jaffer's leadership and direction in keeping the Toronto LUMS community moving forward.
