Call for Papers for the 6th AMRC 2017 in Bangladesh

Tuesday, August 16, 2016

University of Dhaka (DU), Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB), Graduate School of Business, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and University of Wollongong Dubai (UOWD) invite submissions for the 6th Asian Management Research and Case Conference 2017 (AMRC 2017).

In 1990, Asia’s share in world GDP in real US$ purchasing power parity (PPP) was 23.2%. By 2014, this went up to 38.8% much larger than the shares of the United States and the European Union. In fact, Asia’s share is likely to go up in the coming years if current growth trends in key regional economies continue. For example, forecasts by Oxford Economics put Asia’s share at nearly 45% by 2025. Therefore, this year’s conference theme is “Emerging Business Trends in Asia”.

Establishing the primacy of the context in management research and education, this conference seeks to bring together scholars engaged in research and case writing on the unique business models and practices prevalent in Asia. Submissions may include:

·         Research Papers

·         Teaching Cases

·         Panel Proposals

·         Proposals for Doctoral Colloquia

All submissions will be reviewed based on originality, rigor, and relevance to the conference theme. All accepted manuscripts will be presented at the conference.

Journal Submissions

Selected papers and cases will be considered for publication in Dhaka University Journal of Business Studies and Asian Journal of Management Cases.

Location

Bangladesh is a country of lush greenery and many waterways. Its Padma (Ganges), Meghna and Jamuna rivers create fertile alluvial plains, and travel by boat is common. On the southern coast, the Sundarbans, an enormous mangrove forest are home to the Royal Bengal tiger. With rich biodiversity, Bangladesh is home to 700 rivers, rainforested and tea-growing highlands, a 600 km coastline with the world’s longest beach, and various islands including a coral reef. The capital Dhaka and the port city of Chittagong are the most prominent urban centres.
