BASF Holds Internship Campus Drive 2018 at LUMS

BASF Pakistan conducted an internship campus drive for its ‘Summer Internship Programme 2018’ at LUMS on March 5, 2018. Mr. Taha Saeed, Country Lead, Transportation Industry and Performance Materials, started the session by giving a brief introduction of the company.

BASF is a chemical company and its chemicals are used in almost all industries including chemicals, performance products, functional materials and solutions, agricultural solutions and oil and gas. The organisation has an employee base of 115,000 dedicated employees working for them. In 2017, BASF filed for around 800 new patents worldwide.

Ms. Tazeen Shahid, Head of Human Resources, then took the stage and informed the students about the BASF operations in Pakistan. BASF started operations in 1969 in Pakistan and maintains offices in Karachi, Lahore, Kasur, Sialkot and Islamabad, with a production site in Karachi. She further explained the details of the internship programme to students. The ‘Summer Internship Programme’ is a project based internship programme which provides extensive learning opportunities to students.

The session ended with an interactive Question and Answer session that was followed by a written test.
