Mr. Nauman Ahmad Khan, Managing Director, Al Moiz and Thal Industries, has graciously sponsored the education of two National Outreach Programme (NOP) scholars at LUMS. In an effort to acknowledge Mr. Khan’s support, a ceremony was organised at the University where officials from Al Moiz and Thal Industries — Wasif Mehmood, Chief Finance Officer; Abdul Moeed, Human Resources and Farhan Ul Haq, Assistant Vice President also accompanied Mr. Khan.
LUMS Management at the ceremony consisted of Dr. Arshad Ahmad, Vice Chancellor; Dr. Shahid Masud, Dean, Syed Babar Ali School of Science and Engineering; Nuzhat Kamran, Director, Office of Advancement and Imran Nadeem, Assistant Manager, Office of Advancement.
Dr. Ahmad thanked Mr. Khan for his support and briefed him about the future direction of LUMS. He emphasised that specialised centres need to be developed at the University in order to conduct research and find solutions for various problems that plague society.
Mr. Khan responded by recognising the remarkable job LUMS is already doing as one of the prime institutions in the country. He also added that this contribution towards the NOP is just a start and he will provide more support to the scholars as well as the University in future.
Towards the end of the ceremony, Mr. Khan met the NOP scholar he has been supporting. He discussed her experience at LUMS and plans for the future. He also encouraged her to create awareness in her community about the NOP Scholarship so that more people can benefit from the opportunity. Mr. Khan emphasised that these scholars are our brand ambassadors who can act as change catalysts within their communities.
