Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) welcomed Associate Director, A.F. Ferguson & Co (a member firm of the PwC Network), Mr. Aleem Zubair and his team for an information session and recruitment drive for training articles at the firm associated with the Chartered Accountant(CA) qualification which is administered by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP).
Senior Associate, Faryal Chatha, started the session by giving a brief introduction of the CA qualification. She highlighted the diverse career opportunities available to professional accountants and the affiliations that ICAP has with internationally accredited professional accounting bodies such as CIMA, SAFA, CAPA, CIPFA, IFAC, and IAASB. She explained that ICAP currently also has an MoU with LUMS providing exemptions to LUMS BSc Accounting and Finance graduates from the first two stages of the CA qualification.
Mr. Aleem Zubair then took the stage to talk about A.F. Ferguson & Co. which has 1800 employees and 44 partners working in Pakistan. The firm is one of the leading public accounting, business advisory and corporate services firms in Pakistan with origins which can be traced back to 1893. A.F. Ferguson & Co. is a member firm of the PwC network, the world’s largest professional services organisation. The firm has ready access to the technical expertise present in the PwC network firms worldwide and also participates in their training programmes and offers global mobility to its employees.
Applications are open for LUMS 2018 graduates and they will be exempted from the entrance test. Interviews are scheduled from February 22 - 28, 2018 and decisions will be announced in the 1st week of March, 2018. The session information ended with an interactive Q&A session.
