HR Training Stresses on Customer Focus and Team Building

The Human Resource Department (HRD) at LUMS organised a training programme for the administrative heads of departments on ‘Customer Focus and Cross Functional Team Building.’ The training module was customised to meet the needs of the managerial level employees. It was divided into two sessions of 4 hours each, which took place on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 and Thursday, March 7, 2013 at the Rausing Executive Development Centre (REDC). The training sessions were delivered by LUMS faculty, Dr. Jamshed Hasan Khan and Dr. Anwar Khurshid.

Heads from various departments of LUMS including Marketing; Library; Information Systems and Technology; Procurement; Registrar’s Office; General Administration and Services; Accounts and Finance; Office of Student Affairs; Career Services Office; Office of Admissions; HRD, Sports and Wellness and Recreation; Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB) Administration Services and REDC attended the customised training. The trainers used various unique methods of teaching one of which was dividing the participants into groups to do tasks to enhance their team building skills.

Sharing her views on the training Ayesha Zafar, Manager SDSB Administration Services said, “Through the training we got to know other HODs and form friendships which helps professionally. Also, the people in my group had very strong personalities but it was very interesting to see that everyone performed their roles very well individually and as a team.”
