Suleman Dawood School of Business – LUMS, in collaboration with SDSB Luminites Association, organized a Conversation with Mr. Danish Shah, Country Sales Head at P&G Pakistan & Afghanistan. The session was titled, “Career Advice, Professional Development and Interview Tips”.

Mr. Shah is a LUMS alumnus with over 15 years of experience in leading business development, trade marketing, strategy, and planning across channels both locally and internationally.

The session started off with a welcome address by SDSB alumnus (MBA’05) & Co-founder Pakwheels.com, Mr. Suneel Munj. Mr. Danish Shah began the conversation by sharing interview tips and perspectives from the other side of the table. He gave examples from his own interviews, and addressed how to answer common interview questions on personal strengths and weaknesses.

Mr. Shah also highlighted the importance of demonstrating critical thinking abilities and questioning age old systems and processes. A simple “Why?”, as he put it, could open up doors to unprecedented opportunities. He also added that being able to sift through large amounts of data and come up with simple analyses and solutions was a highly sought after skill.

The ability to work with different types of people; lead and be led; and collaborate across boundaries was also discussed. “Having a mindset ready for growth was key to achieving success in any organisation”, Mr. Shah said. Concepts of working smart versus working hard, and being productive by being well organized were also discussed.

The interactive conversation allowed students to discuss their future plans and concerns, and obtain general guidance for interviews, recruitment, and the career selection process.
