Amna Sarwar Sandhu from the BSc (Hons) Economics class of 2016 has received a full scholarship from the University of Nottingham Business School for MSc Banking and Managerial Economics. Amna has been awarded the NUBS Elite Award, which covers 100% tuition fees. This is the first time this award has been awarded to a LUMS graduate. The University of Nottingham is ranked 9th in the UK universities for Economics.
Discussing her award, Amna said, “My postgraduate course is banking and managerial economics. This course is designed for students with two types of ambitions: those seeking a career as practitioners in both domestic and international banks, at central banks, or in consultancy; as well as those who intend to pursue an academic or research career in the field. I fall in the former group. I aim to work in a bank to formulate monetary policies for Pakistan.”
Amna further explained that the course is fully accredited by The Chartered Banker Institute (CBI) which means that she will graduate with a dual award: an MSc Banking and Managerial Economics and the Chartered Banker Diploma, which is the gold standard for professional bankers and is the highest award available in the banking world. The University of Nottingham is one of a select group of business schools to offer this dual qualification degree.
