Mr. Salman Ijaz

Salman is a practicing attorney who represents and advises a diverse portfolio of clients on banking and finance, commercial, corporate, constitutional, civil and family matters.

Salman’s transactional practice focuses on advising businesses and start-ups. He regularly advises sole proprietorships, partnerships, and public and private companies on matters related to structuring, raising capital, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, real estate acquisition & development, and labour and employment matters.

Recent highlights of Salman’s advisory work include (i) advising one of the fastest growing music platforms of Pakistan on issues related to seed capital, foreign investment, IP, and implementing an Employee Stock Option Plan (ESOP); (ii) advising a U.S. based fund on regulatory aspects of rendering investment advisory and brokerage services in Pakistan to the general public through a mobile application.

Salman also has extensive disputes experience, with a focus on commercial and constitutional litigation, and domestic and international commercial arbitration. He is licensed as an Advocate of the High Courts by the Punjab Bar Council, and routinely represents individuals, corporations and public sector entities before the Civil, District and High Courts, as well as administrative agencies and regulators such as the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) and the Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP).

Salman received a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws degree from LUMS (2016), where he was awarded the National Management Foundation Gold Medal, and the Award of High Distinction, and served for two terms as an Editor of the LUMS Law Journal. He received a Master of Laws degree from Harvard Law School (2018), where he was a Landon H. Gammon Scholar, as well as Dean’s Scholar for Corporations (Fall 2017) and Constitutional Law: Federalism, Separation of Powers & the 14th Amendment (Spring 2018). He also served an Editor of the Harvard Business Law Review (HBLR).
