Faculty Profile

Dr. Maqbool Ahmed works in Causal set theory, which is an attempt to quantize gravity. He received his PhD from Syracuse University (USA) and has served as the Head of the Physics department at the Centre for Advanced Mathematics and Physics (NUST). He is currently the incharge of the Physics and Mathematics program at Nusrat Jahan College. He has delivered several seminars and talks at various places including Cornell University, Syracuse University and The Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics. His research primarily deals with the implications of discretizing spacetime. He has collaborated with Dodelson, Greene and Sorkin to present a solution to the dark energy problem.
