Dr. Mashood Nasir received the B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore in 2009, M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Management and Technology (UMT) Lahore in 2011, and Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) Lahore in 2018. From 2009 to 2013, he served as a Lecturer and during 2013–2014, he served as an Assistant Professor in Department of Electrical Engineering, UMT, Lahore. Dr. Mashood has done his Ph.D. research in the planning, design, development, analysis, and control of scalable DC microgrids for rural electrification implementations in the developing regions. He has over 9 years of teaching and research experience in the field of electric power and energy systems. He has profound research interests in the areas of power systems, power electronics, and renewable energy systems with a prime focus on grid integration of alternate energy resources, electrochemical energy conversion, and battery storage systems, and AC/DC/Hybrid microgrids. As part of his Ph.D. research, he has worked as a visiting Ph.D. researcher in microgrids laboratory at Aalborg University (AAU), Denmark (May – Nov 2017), where he developed a communication less and decentralized controlled methodology for the stable and coordinated operation of a cluster of multiple Nanogrids. He has published in top ranked journals including IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, IEEE Transactions on Power Systems and IEEE Transactions on Sustainable Energy and IEEE Electrification Magazine.
