Dr. Ghulam Moeenuddin

Dr. Ghulam Moeen ud din (Moeen Nizami) has joined us as Professor-Tenure Track in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences (MGSHSS).

With a Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD degree in Persian Language & Literature from the University of the Punjab, Dr. Moeen ud din’s core research interests are in Persian, Urdu & Punjabi Literature, History and Sufism. Additional areas of interest include Islamic arts, Sufi orders of South Asia, Common cultural heritage of Iran, Central Asia, Afghanistan, Turkey and the sub-continent, literary translations, Rumi studies and Iqbal studies. He has published numerous research papers in renowned local and international journals and several Urdu and Persian books of his have been published by the leading Iranian and Pakistani publishers. He has also presented his research at many National and International conferences. While at the University of Punjab, Dr. Moeen ud din supervised numerous MPhil and PhD thesis in Urdu, Punjabi and Persian.

Apart from his extensive teaching and research experience, Dr Moeen ud din has held several administrative positions during his tenure at University of the Punjab and was last affiliated with the University as Professor and Chairman - Department of Persian. He was associated with LUMS as Adjunct Faculty from 2009 to 2011 and Visiting Faculty from 2011 to 2012.

 Originally hailing from Sargodha, Dr. Moeen ud din has a keen interest in Gardening and loves spending his leisure time doing Calligraphy
