Office of Sponsored Programmes and Research (OSPR) is organising a one day Symposium titled “Fundamentals of Intellectual Property & Patent Filing” on Saturday, April 30, 2016.
The importance of IP, patenting and commercialisation is yet to be realised by Pakistani Universities to their full strength. It is crucial that we work together in order to generate synergy and step into this exciting territory of innovation. The objective is to initiate a debate at the national level and build capacity in converting innovation into commercial products and registered patents.Therefore the focus of the symposium would be on highlighting the importance of commercialising, productising of the research, and promoting entrepreneurial culture within our educational institutes. The information sessions are designed to create awareness regarding the kinds of intellectual property protection available to researchers and the process of obtaining a successful patent. Session will also highlight the process of patent filing in Pakistan and in the United States.
