The LUMS Students Mathematics Society (LSMS) is geared towards nurturing an interest in mathematics among the youth of today through a calendar of interesting events aimed to spark their intellectual curiosity. SIGMA is the Society’s flagship event and comprises of high school level mathematics competitions, ranging from basic mathematics to puzzles that require logical and mathematical reasoning.

This tournament will be one of a kind and will give participants a chance to engage with mathematical challenges in a fun-filled way. It will not only develop students’ interest in the subject but will also allow them to work with their teams to solve problems outside the classroom environment.
The tournament consists of eight events:
• Kahoot
• Geometry
• Simultaneous Equations
• Rapid Fire
• Scavenger Hunt
• Crack the Image
• Minute to Minute
• Ring a Bell
The social events for the competition are as follows:
Day 1 – Surprise Social Event with Food Street
Day 2 – Concert
Day 3 – Closing Ceremony
Eligibility Criteria: O-level/Matric, FSc/A-level and freshman/sophomores at university
Each school can send up to five teams consisting of three to five students each.
Registration Details: Registration fee for the competition is PKR 3500 per participant with the delegation fee of PKR 3000 per team.
Registrations and payments will be conducted through the online portal. Teams will need to create an account on this portal. A fee voucher will be generated after registration details have been successfully submitted and teams will be able to make the payment either online or through cash, Pay Order and Bank Drafts made in favour of “Lahore University of Management Sciences.” Further details can be found on the voucher once it is generated.
The last day to register your team and make the payment is December 20, 2019.
