About the Workshop
This is 3-day mixed methods workshop for senior academic and policy leaders by internationally recognised expert faculty and leading national figures covering fundamental ideas and topics in science, technology, and innovation policy.
The workshop seeks to build capacity or local academic and policy leaders as well as inform and catalyze a debate about the nature of science and innovation policy, the debate around the changing role of universities in the society, the proper role of the government in supporting science at universities and public labs, and the proper culture of measurement and entrepreneurship at the Universities.
The participants should expect to learn the key ideas, participate in discussions, and create a professional network of policy-minded academics and policymakers around the country. This is a must-attend workshop, supported by HEC, for anyone interested in developing a keen understanding of the policy environment and playing a part in these debates, nationally and internationally.

The Faculty Lead, Mr. Ehsan Masood is an internationally known figure in science policy and journalism and has taught at Imperial College, London and was formerly a Commissioning Editor at the prestigious journal Nature. He was most recently a Knights Science Journalism Fellow at MIT.
The Faculty Colead, Dr. Athar Osama is currently the Member Science and Technology at the Planning Commission and is a recognised authority on Science in the Muslim World. He is a Fellow of the World Technology Network (WTN) and a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum.
The workshop shall be of immense importance to mid and senior leaders in academia and those being groomed for senior leadership positions, particularly:
