Mustansar Hussain Tarar 

Born in 1939, Lahore, Mr. Tarar’s writing career began when he attended the World Youth Festival in Moscow in 1958 and wrote a book titled, Fākhtā, based on his experience of the trip. He has, since then, written more than 50 books (in Urdu), including novels, collections of short stories, travelogues etc., all of which have gained immense popularity in Pakistan. Being extremely fond of travelling, Mr. Tarar has composed a series of travelogues and hence given rise to the genre of ‘ṣafar nāmah’. Some of his works include, Niklē tērī tālāsh meiñ, Barfīlī Bulandīāñ, Ghār-e-Ḥirā’ meiñ aik rāt and Khānah badōsh.

Durdana Soomro

With an MBA from Punjab University and an MA from the School of Oriental and African Studies, London, Ms. Soomro has written for the Dawn, The News and The Friday Times on topics, such as art and horticulture. In addition toUrdu and English, she is fluent in Arabic, Turkish, Bengali, French as well. Along with her own writing, Ms. Soomro has translated many works into English, including Mustansar Hussain's Tarar’s Aye Ghazāl-e- Shab.
