About the Speaker
Mr. Shamsuddin Shaikh is heading the energy portfolio of Engro Corporation and is the CEO of Engro Energy Ltd. (formerly known as Engro Powergen Ltd.), Sindh Engro Coal Mining Company, Thar Foundation and Thar Power Company Ltd.
Mr. Shamsuddin Shaikh has an extensive career of over 25 years in Manufacturing, Sales, Commercial and Supply Chain at various levels and different subsidiaries of Engro Corporation. Prior to his current position, Mr. Shaikh was Senior Vice President, Supply Chain at Engro Foods. He is Chairman of the Board of Directors of Engro PowerGen Thar (Pvt.) Ltd. and Engro Powergen Qadirpur Ltd. while he also serves on the Board of Directors of Sindh Engro Coal Mining Company, Thar Power Company, Engro Powergen Ltd., Engro Eximp Ltd. and Engro Eximp AgriProducts (Pvt.) Ltd.
Mr. Shaikh did his MBA from Colorado State University and MS in Industrial Engineering and BE (Mechanical) from NED University, Karachi.
Engro Energy Ltd. was incorporated in 2008 as Engro Corp’s first initiative into the country’s power sector and owns and operates Engro Energy Qadirpur Ltd., a 224-megawatt power plant which is widely recognised for being Pakistan’s first ‘green’ power plant facility of its kind, which reduces carbon emissions.
