About the event

The event features two segments: Conversations and Live Works. In Conversations, we will see a unique group of experts from various disciplines engaging with the theme ‘Consumerism and Ethics’ by bringing in artworks, excerpts, prompts or objects as a way to further illustrate their response to the theme. Through this conversation we hope that our guests will initiate a discussion that will revolve around what the works mean to them as well as their relevance to the broader social context.

The second segment, Live Works, will contain an exhibition of long durational works that will be performative, interactive, participatory, or gestural, incorporating the body as the medium of expression. Artists, makers and thinkers will be invited to create and perform works in response to the theme of the event. This unique exhibition of live works brings to the evening another avenue of approaching the theme, occurring in tandem with and beyond conversations. Live Works introduces performances that are specifically conceived and designed as a response to the theme in order to break conventions of direct verbal conversations in generic talk formats.
