The Career Services Office and The Office of Advancement are jointly organising a session on ‘Educational Prospects in Australia’ presented by Western Sydney University & Innovative Research Universities.

LUMS alumnus, Dr. Omar Mubin (BSc 2004) along with his colleagues Dr. Aila Khan, Senior Lecturer at Western Sydney University, and Sabeeh Qayyum, In-Country Manager (Pakistan) at Innovative Research Universities, Australia, will be presenting an overview of academic prospects and discussing different career pathways and possibilities in Australia. 

About the Speakers

Dr. Omar Mubin is Senior Lecturer, School of Computing, Engineering and Mathematics at the Western Sydney University, Australia. Prior to moving to Australia, he was a post-doctoral researcher at Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland. Dr. Mubin completed his PhD doctorate qualification from the Eindhoven University of Technology, Netherlands in 2011, and his MSc from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden in 2006.

Dr. Aila Khan is a Senior Lecturer in Marketing and the Academic Course Advisor to Higher Degree Research students at the School of Business. Dr. Khan's research interests span a range of fields, which include health, gender equality and use of social robots in retail environments. Dr. Khan currently has a number of research grants including an experimental design project from Coca-Cola. Recently, she was the lead on a 'vegetable consumption' project, which also resulted in a PhD completion.

Ms. Sabeeh Qayyum has over 15 years of diverse experience in the education sector, ranging from teaching, counselling, career advising, management and marketing. She did her Master of Counselling from Monash University, Australia in 2009, and is looking to explore and develop areas of research, collaboration, partnerships and linkages for Innovative Research Universities in Pakistan.
