About the Chevening Scholarship

The Chevening Scholarship is the UK government’s international awards scheme aimed at developing global leaders and is funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organisations. The scholarship allows students to study in the UK through scholarships and fellowships. The programme provides a unique opportunity for future leaders to build a global network of professional significance and also to establish social, cultural, academic or commercial partnerships with the UK. There are over 1,400 Chevening alumni in Pakistan.

Eligibility Criteria

Pakistani nationals, who hold a master’s degree or a four-year undergraduate degree, with work experience in a field related to the course they are applying to study, are eligible to apply. A minimum of two years, or 2,800 hours, of work experience is required.

A Chevening Scholarship includes:

• University tuition fees
• A monthly stipend
• Travel costs to and from the UK
• An arrival allowance
• A homeward departure allowance
• The cost of one visa application
• A travel grant to attend Chevening events in the UK
