Abstract

The mitophagy is a key process that removes damaged and unwanted mitochondria, thus determining the quality and homeostasis of the mitochondria within a cell. Four novel compounds disturb the binding interactions of LC3 and FUNDC1. All of these compounds also showed the potential to inhibit the auto(mito)phagy. It was also observed that all the compounds inhibit autophagy and helps in the transformation of LC3-I into LC3-II leads to the accumulation of LC3-II. In conclusion, the compounds NAI003, NAI010, NAI037 and NAI038 showed inhibition of auto(mito)phagy flux.
