Abstract
Pathogenic variants of the Cell Division-Cycle-14A gene (CDC14A), encoding dual function phosphatase, cause deafness and male infertility syndrome. Using CRISPR/Cas9 technology, we engineered CDC14A phosphatase dead mutant mouse and zebrafish and investigated mechanisms of CDC14A action in the auditory and reproductive systems by computational, biochemical and cell biological in vivo functional studies.
Biography
Dr. Imtiaz received her MSc degree from the Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics, University of the Punjab (PU), Lahore in 2009 and PhD from the School of Biological Sciences, PU, Lahore in early 2015 after two years of pre doctoral research fellowship (2013-15) at NIH, USA.
